North Lakes is a rapidly developing urban area.

North Lakes is bounded by the locality of Narangba in the north, Saltwater Creek, Chermside Road, Chelmsford Road, Lee Ann Court, Nathan Road and Kinsellas Road West in the east, Anzac Avenue in the south and the Bruce Highway in the west.

North Lakes is the newest residential area in Pine Rivers District. It has developed since 1996, with rapid growth from 2001, a result of a large number of new dwellings being added to the area.

Major features of the area include Westfield North Lakes Shopping Centre, North Lakes Environmental Park, North Lakes Golf Club, Woodside Sportsfield & Park, Melaleuca Lakes & Parklands, Lake Eden and two schools.
