Brendale, approximately 17 km from the Brisbane CBD, is a well-elevated suburb situated between Strathpine (5 minutes away) and Albany Creek (2 minutes away).

Although largely undeveloped, Brendale boasts a wide variety of homes from older style highset chamferboard houses to the newer lowest brick homes. Some light industrial sights are also located in Brendale as is the South Pine Substation (Powerlink).

The make-up of residents in the area is as diverse as the housing. The relatively affordable housing has attracted young couples and first homebuyers to set up residence next door to established families and older residents.

There are no schools located in Brendale however residents are well serviced by schools such as Albany Creek Primary School, Albany Hills Primary School, All Saints Catholic Primary, Strathpine West Primary School, Strathpine Primary School and Pine Rivers High School in the neighbouring suburbs of Albany Creek and Strathpine.

For buyers looking at a natural setting for outdoor lifestyle, the suburb is bordered by the South Pine River, and encompasses the Pine River Reservoirs as well as several park and picnic areas. It is also home to the Wantima Country Club and Golf Course and the Albany Links Driving Range and Course.

Westfield Shopping Town Strathpine supplements Brendale's local stores, and hosts a cinema complex and games arcades as entertainment for residents from surrounding suburbs. Westfield also acts as a central point for local and city bus routes in the area. Strathpine train station is the closest rail station for Brendale residents.

For residents looking to get away for the weekend, the Sunshine Coast is easily accessible via the Gympie Arterial Road and Bruce Highway.

According to the 2001 Census there were 11,146 people living in the Brendale-Strathpine area with a median age of 33. The median individual income was between $300 and $399 per week. Of all occupied private dwellings 70% were either fully owned or being purchased; 25% were being rented.
