Scarborough is a well-established northern suburb of Redcliffe. The suburb is home to large houses with private jetties in canal developments. You will also find sea views from many of the homes located on Scarborough's leafy streets.

Scarborough's fishing harbour is the gateway to Moreton Island. The area is also spoilt with a plethora of parks, recreation facilities and cafes on offer.

The City of Redcliffe was Queensland's first settlement set amid Moreton, Bramble and Deception Bays and is now home to over 50,000 residents.

One of Redcliffe's most historic and celebrated foreshore areas, Suttons Beach, underwent a $2.4 million transformation in the late 90s, early 2000, resulting in a 1.5-kilometre re-landscaped recreational area.

In addition, the reconstruction of the Redcliffe jetty and streetscape works on Landsborough Ave add to the charm and beauty of this small seaside town. The mix of old and new continues to make the area inviting to locals and visitors alike.

North of Brisbane's CBD, the Redcliffe shire is accessible via the Bruce Highway and the Gateway Arterial Road to the Port of Brisbane and the Brisbane domestic and international airports (only 20 minutes away).

A lingering concern among locals working in the Brisbane CBD is the lack of a rail link through to Redcliffe. Currently the line terminates at Brighton with no plans to extend across the Hornibrook Bridge into Redcliffe.

The suburb has a diverse range of both public and private business activities including tourism, manufacturing and light industry, retail and the fishing and seafood industry.

The Redcliffe City Council has made a strong commitment to economic growth with recent initiatives including the construction of a new library and art gallery and the redevelopment of the Redcliffe hospital. The main commercial element is retail trade with most local residents commuting to Brisbane for work.

Families are well catered for with several primary, high and special schools in the Redcliffe shire. Those undertaking tertiary education have access to a TAFE campus on Klinger Road.
