The suburb of Caboolture is located within the Caboolture Shire, about 40 kilometres north of Brisbane's CBD. The Caboolture Shire is an established area boasting many private and government services including schools, a public and private hospital and health centre, police, retirement home and even a historical museum.

Residents in the area - mostly families - have access to a number of parks and outdoor leisure facilities including the Alexander Barr Sporting Complex, the Caboolture Showground Reserve, a golf course, and local picnic/park areas. Caboolture also encompasses part of the Queensland State Forest.

Schools in the area are Tullawong Primary School, a Lutheran Primary School, Caboolture Primary School, Caboolture East Primary School, Caboolture Christian School, Tullawong High School and Caboolture High School.

Transport around Caboolture is good with the local train station running residents into the Brisbane CBD within one hour and regular bus routes ferrying passengers to all the major points around the area. Caboolture also has its own aerodrome.

The majority of land use in Caboolture is for detached suburban housing, although there are acreage properties and a small industrial precinct. While the suburb has a wide variety of established housing ranging from older weatherboard homes on timber stumps to newer brick houses, more recent house and land packages developments are also proving popular with young families.

Boasting a young family atmosphere Caboolture attracts both permanent residents and residential investors.

With the availability of new land developments closer to Brisbane there is increasing competition in the area's housing market. However, considering the many services and government departments centrally located in Caboolture, the area should continue to remain the focal point for the region.
