Traditionally one of southeast Queensland's more affordable waterfront locations, Beachmere has benefited from the sea change phenomenon and is very popular with lifestyle buyers, retirees and investors.

A large suburb, development in Beachmere is concentrated along the waterfront in the suburb's south between the mouth of the Caboolture River and Moreton Bay.

Property price growth has been strong over recent years, spurred on by investors and Brisbane residents buying early for their eventual retirement.

Beachmere is starting to shed its retiree image and now offers buyers brick properties in new housing estates and million-dollar waterfront housing as well as its traditional selection of older chamferboard and Hardiplank homes.

Older houses are also being renovated to bring them in line with modern tastes.

Most residents of Beachmere are lifestyle buyers, who often commute to jobs in Brisbane, or retirees. A number of young families and couples have also moved into the suburb in the last two years.

There is a small marina in Beachmere and most leisure activities in the suburb revolve around boating and fishing.

Residents with young children can send them to primary school within the suburb, although high school students generally travel by bus to Caboolture or Bribie Island to attend classes.

There is an IGA supermarket within Beachmere, but for larger shopping expeditions residents go to Banksia Beach.

While there is no train station in Beachmere itself, bus services are available and many commuters drive the 15 minutes to Caboolture train station.
