Local Government Authority Brisbane
Location 9 km from CBD
Features Corinda rail station, Brisbane River frontage
Commentary Situated only 9km from the Brisbane CBD, Corinda is one of the city's more popular family suburbs with large older-style homes and a leafy quiet atmosphere. The suburb is also bounded on its western side by the Brisbane River.

While homes on the western side of the railway line near the river have always sold for higher prices than the 'low' side, the low side of the suburb is now seeing increased prices as property prices closer to CBD have forced buyers further out. Many of the older homes are being renovated and as such prices across the entire suburb have seen significant growth over the last few years.

With its own railway station, Corinda's residents have easy access to all of greater Brisbane via the Ipswich line, 20 minutes to the CBD. It also provides residents with easy access to Indooroopilly Shoppingtown and the University of Queensland. There is another less frequent rail service to Yeerongpilly via Tennyson.

Like its neighbour, Graceville, Corinda is a leafy quiet residential suburb with part of the suburb being alongside the Brisbane River. One of the city's older suburbs, Corinda has fine old Queenslanders and post-war homes and many opportunities for renovation.

While its neighbours are relatively flat in topography, parts of Corinda boast a scenic hilly area with views of Mt Coot-tha.

There is a thriving small business and commercial centre on the eastern side of the railway line - there is also a revamped Coles Supermarket that attracts shoppers from all over the area. The suburb has a few churches, primary schools, and sporting fields.

Along Oxley Road, there have been recently developed townhouse complexes which make up only a handful of such developments in the suburb. The vast majority of dwellings are houses.

According to the 2001 Census there were 4,4456 people living in the suburb with a median age of 39. The median individual income was $535 per week. Of all occupied private dwellings 64.2% were either fully owned or being purchased; 31.5% were being rented.
